USB Errors

In order to be able to plugin your headset and other devices, The minimum required value is:

Total USB Ports: minimum of 2 free ports

In case you need to review your USB ports please open the Device Manager:

Type Device Manager in the start menu. Click on it.

Once you have the Device Manager Open you might get 4 different error messages:

  1. Yellow exclamation mark or Other Devices category.

    This indicates that the hardware is conflicting other device or its drivers are not installed properly. You can remove them by selecting them and pressing the delete button in the keyboard, and restart the computer
    At restart Windows will try to install the Driver, if the error remains the same you need to download the latest driver or use the disc that came with the hardware.

  2. Red X in the device.

    If you want this device enabled, double-click the device with a red x. At the bottom of the General tab, click the Device usage drop down box where it says “Do not use this device (disabled)” and select “Use this device (enabled)”.
    If after rebooting the computer, the Device Manager remains the same you need to download the latest driver or use the disc that came with the hardware.

  3. Down arrow

    if you see a small down arrow next to the device as shown in the picture, this is an indication that the device has been disabled. Right Click and from the menu select enable and restart.

  4. Missing hardware or Unknown device.

    This is an indication that the device is not being detected. Try turning off the computer, disconnecting and reconnecting the hardware device, and turning the computer back on. If Windows still does not detect the device, either that device is not compatible with your version of Windows, or it is bad.
